Photos from the Back-to-School Mixer with the Filipino Student Association - Atlanta, Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity Inc., Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority Inc., Society of Step, and the Turkish Student Organization have been uploaded! Although it was cold, it was still fun as the marshmallow and toothpick rendition of the Taipei 101 evolved into the Leaning Tower of Eiffel. Don't know what I'm talking about? Check out the event photos in the Fall 09 - Spring 10 section of the photo gallery. Also, thanks to everyone who came out to the first general meeting! Hope that marshmallows and toothpicks part II was fun and that you got to know a few more people. Photos from the general meeting will be up shortly. The Lunar New Year is coming up!! In honor of the holiday, our next events will be Tiger 湯圓 (Tang Yuan) Night When: Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 What time: TBD Where: TBD Yes, it sounds pretty cheesy, but there will be food and fun! And feel free to join in the excitement by dressing up as a tiger! ;D No really, I'm serious. I can guarantee that you will not be the only one. And of course, we will be at CCC's annual Chinese New Year festival selling food and drinks. Chinese New Year When: Saturday, February 13th, 2010 Sunday, February 14th, 2010 What time: 10:00AM-4:00PM Where: Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta (near Dinho in China Town) 5377 New Peachtree Rd Atlanta, GA 30341 Yes, that's Valentine's Day. But what better day to spend Valentine's Day than with the officers and members of the TASA you love dearly? A little pushy, maybe? But do still try to come out and support us! Photos from the general meeting will be up soon. More details from our upcoming events will be posted then as well. |

Welcome back to school! Hopefully you are all caught up on rest as we dive into this next semester. To start the semester off, TASA will be worknig with the Filipino Student Association - Atlanta, Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity Inc., Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority Inc., Society of Step, and the Turkish Student Organization at Yes, that's tomorrow!! Sorry for the late notice but hopefully you'll still make it! There will be a free throw shooting contest, a competition to build the Taipei 101 out of marshmallows and toothpicks, and a Filipino food eating contest! There will also be bubble tea, crackers, and Filipino snacks! However, the weather tomorrow evening will be around the lower thirties and upper twenties so dress warmly!!
If you just can't make it for some reason (you have jetlag or you are deathly afraid of the cold or because you are still in denial that school has started ...), you can look forward to our first major event of the semester There will, of course, be more bubble tea! And we'll also be playing more ice-breaker games. Do come because it'll be fun! Just a sneak preview of what's to come this semester -- Chinese New Year at the CCC, ITASA at MIT, Island Night, officer elections, Night Market, Relay for Life, and much, much more! We'll see you tomorrow! |

In addition to uploading the photos from the event, I've also uploaded exclusive photos from our board meeting on Monday.
