For everyone who missed out on the East Coast ITASA Conference at MIT -- we've got big news!! GT TASA won this year's award for Outstanding Achievement! That's the highest honor for TASA's across the nation! Congratulations to GT TASA! Also, if you've got some time, check out this video by Wong Fu Productions! Basically, the World Expo is in Shanghai this year and the USA Pavilion would like to exhibit the Chinese in America! So all you ABCs out there, here's your big break! All you need to do is to upload your photo and enter your last name to be a part of this! The deadline for Join the Wall is February 28th so hurry!! It will only take a moment of your time! And to everyone -- ABC or not -- Wong Fu Productions requests that you join their wall by uploading a photo of yourself and a note about where you're from to their fanpage! Don't miss out on this great opportunity! I'm sure everyone is excited about tomorrow's event! On a side note, independent team All Day Buffet plays their fourth intramural game on Thursday. With their current losing streak, they could really do with your support as they face G. Last week was the Chinese New Year Festival! Although it snowed, the show still went on! So a huge thanks goes out to everyone who still managed to stop by last weekend to support the joint effort of GT TASA and Emory TASA! Check out the Photo Gallery to see the event photos of us working the booth and to see who we found amidst the chaos that is the CCC New Year Festival! Thanks again to everyone who made it! And if you like the mochi (麻糬) we made or you missed out, know that we still have some leftover! This weekend is the East Coast ITASA Conference at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology! Officers and members Sarah Chang, Tiffany Chang, Ted Chen, Roger Chiou, David Posey, Ginger Tsai, Daniel Wang, Hanchao Wang, Andy Wu, and Justin Yen -- hope you're having a blast! But of course, not too much fun without us! Meanwhile, those of us officers left in Atlanta are preparing for our upcoming event What time: 7:00PM-10:00PM Where: Instructional Center 111 We will be cooking beef noodles for you as we watch a romantic Taiwanese film called Hear Me (聽說). Don't worry if you don't speak the language; there will be English subtitles! Admission will be free for members and $3 for non-members! Of course, it's not too late to become a member! It only costs $15 for a T-shirt and free admission to all our events for the rest of the school year! If you haven't been keeping up ... well, so far there's nothing to brag about (Game 1 against Paul they lost 25-48; Game 2 against Air Adair they lost 16-67; Game 3 against Injured Reserves they lost 29-100) ... Yeah, they really need your support this week as they face the best team in the division -- G. Fist Pump! Come out and support our members, including but not limited to Treasurer Bryan Yang, Events Committee member Charles Kuo, Freshman Representative Ian Chen, and Patrick Chen! Thank you to those of you who showed your support by showing up, especially if you had your face-painted in support of the event. Your dedication is greatly appreciated. And has also been documented in the Photo Gallery! Chinese New Year at the CCC is this coming weekend! We will be working there with Emory and selling lemon aiyu, mochi, and maybe even radish cakes so please come out this weekend!

Photos from the spring general meeting have now been uploaded! They can be viewed in the Photo Gallery. Thank you to all who joined us and a second thank you goes out to everyone who bought a bento box in support of our Haiti relief efforts! Thank you, Secretary Lynn Tsai for providing the meals!
In other news, Freshman Representative Ian Chen is now also acting as Service Chair, and Ted Chen is still around as our "Master Chef"!! And now for the updates you care about most! The Lunar New Year is in two weeks!! Our next event is Where: Eighth Street Apartments Activity Room Admission to this event will be free for members and $3 for non-members. Of course, you can always pay dues and become a member for $15. At this event, we'll be teaching you to make a traditional dessert served on the first full moon after the New Year. Again, I encourage you to express your enthusiasm by dressing up as a tiger in honor of the upcoming Year of the Tiger! Or at least wear red (or orange, haha). We'll see you there! Chinese New Year at the CCC is not an event of our own, but we will be there selling lemon aiyu and mochi so please come out the weekend of the Lunar New Year! Although the team isn't of our organization, a lot of our members, including Treasurer Bryan Yang, Events Committee member Charles Kuo, Freshman Representative Ian Chen, and Patrick Chen (to name a few ...), play on the team! The game will be at 10:00PM on Thursday night so if you can make it, show your support and help cheer them on! Photos from the Back-to-School Mixer with the Filipino Student Association - Atlanta, Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity Inc., Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority Inc., Society of Step, and the Turkish Student Organization have been uploaded! Although it was cold, it was still fun as the marshmallow and toothpick rendition of the Taipei 101 evolved into the Leaning Tower of Eiffel. Don't know what I'm talking about? Check out the event photos in the Fall 09 - Spring 10 section of the photo gallery. Also, thanks to everyone who came out to the first general meeting! Hope that marshmallows and toothpicks part II was fun and that you got to know a few more people. Photos from the general meeting will be up shortly. The Lunar New Year is coming up!! In honor of the holiday, our next events will be Tiger 湯圓 (Tang Yuan) Night When: Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 What time: TBD Where: TBD Yes, it sounds pretty cheesy, but there will be food and fun! And feel free to join in the excitement by dressing up as a tiger! ;D No really, I'm serious. I can guarantee that you will not be the only one. And of course, we will be at CCC's annual Chinese New Year festival selling food and drinks.
