I hope everyone's dead week isn't too bad yet.. just think TWO MORE WEEKS! Then we're out of here for a nice, relaxing 3 week break. But, before we get there, TASA is hosting a hot pot night open to ALL! It's part of and sponsored by Culture Break so they pretty much gave us money and said, feed people. Or at least that's how we took it (refer to our T-Shirt for 2008-2009).
Apologies for getting the T-Shirt design out so late, but we've all been busy and we originally didn't have a design at all! But they've arrived and we will be bringing them to Hot Pot Night for our members. The design is to the right. Hope you like it!
It's cold outside, so we brought out the hot pots for you

Hey everyone! Get ready for our biggest event of the semester. I'm sure you've all at least heard of it.. Taste of Taiwan! Pretty much, we get eveyrone together for some games, performances, competitions, and of course, food. We're working with Emory TASA to bring you guys lots of yummy things to eat and fun performances. Best of all, it will all be totally FREE! Check out our facebook event for more information!

Ready for some desserts? Who isn't? Especially Taiwanese desserts! So at our next event, which will be completely free for anyone who decides they want some yummy food while watching a scary Taiwanese film. We'll be showing Silk (no, not the one with Keira Knightley) in the IC and serving mochi, egg custard, green bean soup and almond pudding. Yes, the film will have subtitles.. otherwise, a lot of us would be lost. So come out and take a break with us! More information at our facebook event.
And in other news, in case you can't make the movie, if you're interested in doing the Dragon Dance during the Chinese New Year festival, contact Steve Hsieh. He's got the low down on it if you haven't gotten an e-mail from us about it already. And during the weekend (November 8th-9th), Emory is hosting a Southeast Mixer. If you're interested in learning more about it, check out their facebook event.

Ok -- so it's been a while. Sorry for that. I'll try hard to keep up this semester, but it's been pretty hectic. Quick overview.. we've had a couple of events and our next one is coming up really soon! First we had our general meeting, where everyone got to enjoy some bubble tea. Then we had a BBQ and some mooncakes, a joint event with CSA and HKSA.
Those were both a lot of fun. If you thought so too, come join us for Dumpling Night! We'll be making a bunch beforehand, and then we're going to let you try it too. Join us Wednesday October 1st for some good food and fun!
RSVP on our Facebook event!

Again, sorry for not updating. I hope everyone's semester hasn't been quite as crazy as mine. If it has been, you should try to take a break! And by break, I mean make it out to our next event. Thanks to everyone who came by CCC and bought something from us and also to everyone who attended Noodles Night. I hope everyone got enough yummy food. As for our next delicious event, we've got Breakfast Foods & Gamenight!
›› Breakfast & Games? That sounds odd.
If anyone has pictures they took from the CCC Chinese New Year Festival that they'd like to share, I'd really appreciate it if you sent them over. I wasn't able to make it on Saturday to take pictures and I worked at the booth the whole time on Sunday while I was there. So, send some pictures my way and I'll add them to the site with credits to you, of course. Thanks!!

Hey everyone! I apologize for the lack of updates. Since school started, I've pretty much just jumped right in and have been really busy. But here's a small update about the new year. We're getting the set of events for this semester ready. The first one should be Noodle Night on February 6th.
›› NOOOOOOODLES!
Some other events we have in mind are Dimsum/Game Night, meeting up for Chinese New Year at CCC, a mahjong tournament, a karaoke competition, Relay for Life and obviously, Night Market. If you have any suggestions, please let one of the officers know or you can always show up to our weekly officer meetings every Monday 7:30pm in the Student Center, room 359.

Hey guys! Sorry it's been so long since I've updated. It's been a pretty hectic semester for me. But thank you to all that came out to TEAMBuzz, Bento Night Out and Ultimate Mixer. I had a lot of fun and I hope all of you did too!
Now, next up is our biggest event of the semester and it will be amazing. So, you should come. What is it, you ask? Well, it's Taste of Taiwan of course. It will be this coming Saturday starting at 6:30. If you were there last year, it will be somewhat similar but this time with more stuff on stage. Free Bento and Suno like before and this time there will be lots of prizes to be won!
›› Bento? Suno? Together? SWEETNESS!

So, dumpling night! How was it? We would definitely appreciate any feedback on our events in order to improve them every year. You can send anonymously through the contact form or you can just go ahead and tell us! Next on our events is going to be Bento Night Out. If you looked ahead on the calendar, you would have seen that it was on November 3rd. We're changing this date to October 27th instead. Sorry if that causes any trouble. More information to come.
›› Get ready for a night out(side of Tech)! BENTO NIGHT OUT!
If you weren't at the last event and are or want to be a member, you missed out on the T-Shirts. But don't worry, we will bring them to our next on-campus event. Remember membership for the entire year is just $15. Check out the design.
That's all folks!
October 1, 2007 --
I hope all of you guys had a good time at the BBQ and Mooncake event last Tuesday. The turnout was awesome! Thanks for coming out and supporting TASA and CSA! Our next event will be Dumpling Night for 10/10. It will, obviously, be on October 10th which is right when we get back from fall break!
›› Dumplings!.. Really? YES! DUMPLINGS!
The pictures from the BBQ are up, so check that out. I'm still working on getting the ones from the general meeting. As always, if you ever have any pictures that you took from an event and would like to share them with everyone, just e-mail them to Steph Yang (me) and I'll make sure you get proper credit. That's all for now. Stay tuned.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who was able to make it out to our first general meeting. I hope you guys all had a good time there, even with the confusion when you walked in the room and a bunch of people were setting up robots. If you were unable to make the meeting, you can still find out what we talked about [click here]. You can ignore the last few slides as you missed our giveaways. Your loss =P
We're all looking forward to getting to know all of you during the year and eating lots of good food. And on that note, our first even will be a BBQ with mooncakes for dessert. It will be our mid-autumn festival celebration so it's going to be on September 25. More details will be out shortly.
›› MOONCAKES! Delish.
August 28, 2007 --
Here's to a late welcome back. I hope everyone had a great summer and I also hope you are all ready for another awesome semester full of food and other fun events. You should have all gotten an e-mail from Mr. President, Matthew Lee, listing out a number of events we have planned for the year. If not, you might not be on our mailing list (Oh no!). Let us know, and we'll take care of that right away.
I'm working on setting up a calendar for the years events so everyone can have a good idea of what will be going on and when and there won't be any surprises like last year. It'll take at least another week or two though so don't get too excited just yet. For now, the events page will show details our first general meeting, which is on September 5th.
›› Details? Please..
That's all for now. Enjoy the beginning of school as it will be the easiest. See you on the 5th!
